“LongCARE” coordination project: second workshop in Berlin

The second workshop of the “LongCARE” coordination project took place in Berlin on 16 October 2025. The project coordinates 30 different research projects into Long COVID that are funded by the Federal Ministry of Health (BMG). 60 people took part in the event, including representatives from the BMG, the funded projects, the project manager and the “LongCARE” coordinating agency.

The workshop provided an important opportunity to further integrate the projects involved and to work on creating new joint initiatives. The participants updated each other on the status of their working groups and then held group work discussions on various topics including challenges in care and the use of digital tools (e.g. wearables). In a final step, each group presented the results in the form of brief presentations and discussed future steps together.

Participants rated the event as a major success. For example, they were able to carry out important preparatory work for the “LongCARE” symposium scheduled to be held as part of the NUM Convention on 22 January 2026. Preparations were also made for some of the projects to take part in the Digital Health Conference DMEA, which is set to take place in Berlin from 21 to 23 April 2026.
