Baden-Württemberg: Model project on Long COVID in children and adolescents
In order to improve the care of children and adolescents with Long COVID, the state of Baden-Württemberg is supporting the “MOVE-COVID-BW” model project at the university hospitals in Freiburg, Heidelberg, Tübingen and Ulm. Among other things, a cross-sectoral care structure is to be established and tested, which will be supplemented by a telemedicine service. Scientific data will be collected at all four locations according to defined criteria, e.g. by means of standardised questionnaires. This will be included in a register. The aim is to enable further systematic and targeted research into the pathology, for example through special virological, immunological and radiological diagnostics. This way, the project can contribute to gaining new insights into the development mechanisms of the disease and its treatment - especially in children and adolescents. Information on the pathology and treatment options are provided on a website.
